OK, I lucked out and won one of hologram Rommie's jackets:

But I need to know what kind of pants she wore with this jacket.

I don't think it's the tan stirrup pants, since that goes with a slightly different jacket:

Any ideas?

I've been having a hard time finding a lot of full -length shots of hologram Rommie, especially with the jacket that I won (it's being shipped to me at this time, so I haven't received it yet)

Congrats on winning the jacket, Tillie; I know how you've been wanting one for quite a while now and I'm glad that you finally won one. You'll have to bring it with you the next time you're in town, I'd love to see it.

To the question at hand, I'll see what I can dig up. I have a bunch of screencaps and I might just have what you're looking for, failing that there's always the DVDs. Offhand though, my guess is that she wore the usual tan stirrup pants since those are the only pants that seem to be authorized for wear with the reds.
Riceball
I've gone through all of Adnromeda screencaps and I can't find any shots of Rommie with that particular uniform on, sorry. Do you know what season/episode it's from? I have the first 3 DVDs of season 1 so if it was worn then I could possibly find a useful shot.

It also looks what I said about tan pants only with the red uniform was wrong. It seems that female officers have some leeway and are authorized to wear black pants with their red blouses. I have a picture of one of the previous Rommie costumes that was auctioned off and it came with black pants and in the episode "Mathematics of Tears" there's a scene in where Jill is wearing red on black.

So it is entirely possible that black pants could be worn with this top but the tops that were worn with black pants look completely different from yours. For what it's worth though, the tan stirrup pants is worn most often by Rommie when in her red uniform so you probably won't go wrong with tan pants.

Thanks - I'm hoping that I can actually wear this jacket but we'll see - it's listed as a size small, which I can sometimes wear depending on the cut

I've yet to meet Lexa Doig, so I don't know if I'm about her size or if she's smaller than I am...

**

according to the ebay description, this jacket was worn by the hologram Rommie in the episode, "Point of the Spear" (which I believe is season 3, episode 16) - I don't have any of the DVDs, so have no way to refer to them.

This was the screencap that was shown as part of the description for the jacket on eBay: (as you can tell, it doesn't show the bottom half of Rommie)

Wow, that's fantastic. I'm so jealous! smile.gif

I've got season 3 on DVD - I think I may have to break out that episode after work tonight and see if I can tell, but if memory serves she wore the black pants.

Granted, if it comes right down to it, you could just come up with another dramatis personae and go with either or, and then dare people to tell you you're wrong...
foxspirit
I went back and re-watched the episode where this costume was featured...she does wear the black pants with this jacket...

it's just that I can't see enough to tell whether it has that blue stripe along the side of the pants...

if it does, finding the material that would MATCH the blue that's on the jacket is going to be tough - it's made of some shimmery material that I've yet to see at any fabric store...

also need to figure out what kind of boots she wore with that outfit - the DVD shows Rommie in that outfit just briefly, and you barely catch any details on the boots

(Rommie always wore boots in her hologram and avatar incarnations, but I don't believe it's just ONE style that she wears)

and BTW, the jacket fits almost perfectly on me - the armholes are a bit snug, but the rest is just right! I need to get a picture of me in it to post...
foxspirit
some close-up details of the Rommie hologram jacket I have

am trying to find the blue fabric on the jacket so I can make the stripes for the black stirrup pants that goes with the jacket

the blue material has some sort of swirl pattern or at least some sort of color variation, which makes it really hard to match

ElGato
It's the same blue trim used on one of Dylan's jackets. Good luck matching it. Why not just use blue fabric thats a close match for color? After all, it's only a trouser stripe.

Or for that matter, why not just any satiny material that's the same color and general texture?
ElGato
Why not!

well, you know me - I'm a stickler for canon costuming...

I just wish I could have the matching pants that went with it - I did ask Legends Memorabilia about that, and they said they got far fewer pants than they had jackets for the Andromeda costumes..

if I recall correctly, the only black pants they sold for Rommie went with her black High Guard jacket (which also has that weird blue material)

I think I will bring the my Rommie jacket along when I hit Denver Fabrics this weekend and see if I can't find something close...

There's being canon and there's being just plain anal, no offense. I think in this case you're just going to have to settle with good enough, plus in this case nobody but you and maybe the original costume designer would be able to tell that whatever material you use for the trouser stripe isn't the exact same as originally used on the show. I'd doubt that even Lexa would even be able to notice the difference and it was her costume originally. Another thing to consider, this was Lexa's costume as holo Rommie which means that nobody ever got a clear look at the costume because of the holo effect which means most people probably didn't even know that there was a stripe on the pants much less a stripe of the same material as the one on her blouse.

I think that taking the blouse with you to the fabric store is a good idea, you'll be able to get a far better match that way than trying to go by memory. Who knows, you might get lucky and find a matching material that you didn't realize matched because you didn't have the blouse with you to compare to.

Phil is wise. Listen to him.

point taken, guys! tongue.gif

I get carried away sometimes on the details - miss the forest for the trees, so to speak

but I'll take a look and see what I can find

I have a sneaking suspicion it may be something made by Sommers, which means the fabric itself will cost me an arm and a leg if I do find it...(assuming they don't require a minimum order of 180 yards or something like that for me to even GET it)
ElGato
To further illustrate Phil's point, the blue trouser stripes on the tan HG pants were cloth, not the blue pleather material that was on the jacket. My guess is that they did the same with Rommie.

do you have a picture of the material that was used for stripes on the pants? that may be easier to find
