Just what the title says:

Space Marine.
Rook
Nice graphic.

The Pilot's G-Suit pants were only used in the premier episode (despite how cool they look).

That was fast Rook, it was only posted 2 mins ago smile.gif

Yea, another S:AAB fan!

They lost the neck ring too and the under garment after the pilot episode as well. Later they lost the shin armor and the liners of their gloves. The actors found the gear to warm and bulky.
space marine
Does anyone have a source for the neck ring, the costume i am putting together is based on the pilot episodes !

We need better pictures of the neck ring:

Best episodes to look for it are: the Pilot episode when they are coming and going from Mars; and Darkside of the Sun.

Later they just go with a black turtleneck shirt.

Here are a few screencaps of the neck ring/seal from the second part of the pilot episode on Mars:

My first suggestion/guess would be a neoprene rubber scuba suit neck. My Dad had a similar piece for cold water diving back in the day. I never used one myself, but my own dive experience is shallow water/warm weather.

Here you go, from our second favorite online shopping center...

Thats what i thought too Russ, some sort of divers neck seal, but looking at the screencaps,
it seems to be some kind of foam. If you look closely you can see the stiching, so i would assume it's not a moulded rubber piece. I'm starting to think it's a custom piece, just foam with a fabric covering sewn on...........

So whats your favorite online shopping center ?

Rook
The divers neck pieces I've seen have a fabric covering that's glued or bonded to the neoprene rubber.

These are actually quite similar to the neck rings used on Starship Troopers.

Maybe someone can help me with:

- Infra-screen device
Can someone give me the measurements and some detail fotos (upside, back, side)
There are no replicas available, right?

-OD PASGT cover
Any clue where to find one?
Rook
Dan (lostncybr) had some resin replicas of the Infra-scan device.

first of all: hello guys, i'm the new guy smile.gif

and now for my question: where did you guys get your flight suits from? is there a cheaper alternative to nomex, which is kinda overkill just to get geeked up (yes, i am a geek and proud of it, also a sergeant and proud of it, but also a student and broke wink.gif )? i live in switzerland, so any source from europe would probably make more sense than ordering from a us-based army surplus store, unless of course it's the only way to get the thing.
lostncybr
They only used real nomex flight suits in the pilot episode. I have one of Vansen screen used flight suits and it is one of the commericially available non-nomex flight suits. We can find them here in the USA at most Army surplus stores.

Online, try www.outinstyle.com they have them for about $30.00 USD

Blade
cheers mate, exactly what i was looking for... as soon as i get this month's pay i will have to order smile.gif
Blade
by the way, can somebody give me some info on the sizes... i am about 185cm tall and weigh about 85kg...large? x-large?

oh, and is there a one-stop-shop reliable source for good quality patches?
Rook
For those sizes, you'll want a Large or XL.

I'm about your height, but a little heavier and I wear an XL (size 46) for comfort.
I hate being packed in there. smile.gif A size 44 was a little too snug on me, but would probably fit you
fine.

Dan has some of the patches available (or did unless he's sold out).
That's where I got mine from.

Katarra8 on ebay also has accurate patches, but at times she's... interesting... to deal with.
I imagine though that if you're buying an "off the rack" item in her ebay store, you
shouldn't have any problems. Custom orders... that's another story. Ask Dan about
his troubles with custom orders from her. wink.gif

Russ
ElGato
Be careful when buying SAAB patches for the flight suits. There are several versions available for the most common patches and they are NOT all canon. To the best of my knowledge, no one makes a canon USMC patch. Do your homework first.
Rook
Katarra has one version that looks identical to what I've seen on screen,
and Dan actually has the other one that's been seen as well.

Of course NEITHER has the gold border around the patch. That's just incorrect. smile.gif

Avoid the "Starbase Atlanta" patches, they're inaccurate compared to the other choices.

Russ
Blade
was just doing some initial recon out of curiosity, but I couldn't find a source for the body armor... does anybody in europe have an idea, where i can get such a mx chest protector as used in the series?
space marine
This is the correct armor used by the pilots in the series.

The hockey armor used by the ground troops is a lot harder to find.....

HI, another rookie here! I am not too versed in this internet forum thang, so please bear with me if i do any of this wrong,.
I am trying to put together x2 S.A.A.B costumes, i have x2 replica flight suits, an original pistol and holster, rifle, and both space, and cloth backpacks, dogtags and x 1 set of night visgoggles.
I will be on the look out for any of the rest of the outfits, such as the Zelcos, and the infra scan devices.Do you think that Dan would still have any of these going spare? Will he read this or do i have to contact him directly, if so is it just a case of replying to one of his posts?
As i said i am new to this, so any help you can give me would be appreciated.it may take me a while to re to any answer, as i am probably the only person left on the planet who hasnt got his own computer yet, so i am at the mercy of our [regularly] malfunctioning internet cafe[remember them?].
cheers,
NIck.G

Looks like you got yourself a pretty good collection to start with! If you got pictures of your stuff we would love to see them smile.gif

I can get you replica zelco (or real working ones) or resin infrascan devices or helmet cameras for your K-pot and even smart grenade kits.

I'd like to see this as well if possible. I was a huge fan of that show when it was on and have been toying around with building a basic costume for years. Does anyone know the exact type of light used to make these on the show? http://www.yourprops.com/view_item.php?movie_prop=13570 I heave search the trade name Zelco, but they make a LOT of stuff!
Cornholio
The Zelco Lantern has the model number: 10018 or search for "Micro Fluorescent Lantern"
