this popped up on ebay. Not certain if it's the real deal.

SaaB Holster

I'm guessing those patterns on the metal are either 1/2" or 1" squares for size reference.

Hey there,

Thanx for that, this holster is the real deal. The seller is one of the biggest
Space:aab collectors out there, he has lots of SAAB props on www.yourprops.com

Hi!

I'm new to this board but I wanted to post, because I have recently become the owner of an original (solid) M70 and holster! I would be happy to post photos and measurements... that is if anyone is still interested. (I see this post is quite old!) rolleyes.gif

Sure post away! I have an original one as well, but its with a professional prop maker to use for making replicas for us fans!

Okay, you asked for it. First time posting images, wish me luck!

I prefer to use metric measurements myself, but as this piece seems to have been designed in inches I thought I'd stick with that. Just not so easy to type the fractions!

The recessed shape on the face of the holster appears to be repeated on the back, leading me to surmise that the holsters could be made left-handed by swapping the metal piece to the other side. (Sorry if this is common knowledge..?)

The metal plate is 1/8" thick. The part the belt goes through consists of a sandwich of 1/8", 1/4", 1/8" (=1/2").

This last one shows one of the three fixings on the inside, corresponding to the screws visible on the back. The screws must go into them like a nut, but it's not a fixing I've seen before.

I didn't note a thickness for the holster plastic; that's because it varies a lot. However a rough average would be 1/4" overall, thinning to 1/8" for the recessed detail.

Well, I hope some of this is of interest. It's nice to be able to provide some answers for a change. happy.gif

Wilco is using my screen used M-70 pistol and holster to make molds as soon as they free up some RTV to make the molds.

hmmm... the possability that Wilco moved SAaB up on the crafting list... awsome. Speculation, but awsome

That would still leave open someone to do the high end version with all individually molded pieces. Seems like we have parts to do a hero version too. I have the correct laser and muzzle break and should be able to get the correct rings.
