Has anyone been checking out this series? It's been billed as a science fiction version of "Northern Exposure"...

I really, really enjoy Eureka.
This week was the first week I've missed it (wasn't home, forgot to set the VCR) since it started. Since I never really watched Northen Exposure, I can't make that comparrison though...

Northern Exposure was about a small town in Alaska if memory serves correct.
I love Eureka. I have to say, it's probably my favorite Sci Fi series on right now. I have them all on my Tivo right now

Eureka shares some similarities with Northern Exposure in that both are about small towns with quirky residents. The main character(the sheriff/Doctor) think they are the only sane ones in town but soon learn that different is not always a bad thing.
By the Way, I really like Eureka. It's the best show on SciFi next to the Stargates. I haven't really liked the direction That SciFi has been heading lately with it's movies of late. Eureka shows that they can still make a extraordinary series if they try.

I'm really enjoying the show... It's offbeat & just plain damn funny.
Scifi now has four good shows....Eureka, SG-1, Atlantis and BSG.

I love Eureka! I wish I could move there!
In all seriousness though, it's a given that the science is fanciful and religated to being a plot driver/complication, but the way the characterisations are delivered are full and not overbearing. Joe Morton I have often held as a treasure to film really does such an incredible performance, that if my karma for enjoying a show often results in it getting pulled of the air, I hope that he may get a spinoff of his own.
I could go on and on about it but the bottom line is it's fun! Watch it!

Last nights episode was pretty good. It was interesting to see the different characters take on different personalities.
Seeing Jo turning into a happy-go-lucky girl was hysterical!

I missed the last few minutes of this week's episode - what happened with Stark and the artifact? Did Allison manage to persuade him to NOT open the door? He was still wonky from the pollen...
(note: I tape all the shows I watch because I work during the hours that they run. As luck would have it, this week's ECW episode ran five minutes over, so my tape had five minutes of wrestling and I missed the last five minutes of "Eureka")

Yes, she did manage to stop him. Alision left the sheriff at the entrance to the 'tunnel' and said she knew she could get through to him. There was hugging and 'I need you's' and a very disappointed looking sheriff that sauntered away. lol

Was watching season finale of BSG the other day and thought I recognised someone, turns out Erica Cerra who plays Dep. Joe, also played maya (the one who recieved sharon's baby) in BSG.
*Edit* Also looks like she was the one bitten by drake in the shop in Blade Trinity.

He is stuck in Carter's house in the next episode, so maybe the residents will convince him he is still needed. It won't be the same show without him.

Definitely a great episode!
I laughed when they referenced the movie Wargames, with the explanation of Sarah being a Wargames program. Then of course Sarah asks "Shall we play a game."
Man, that brings me back.. gotta go watch that movie now...
anyone remember those funky modems? You had to pick up the receivever of your rotary phone, and put it onto the receiver cradle

Anyways, great episode.. looking forwad to the finale

Last night's episode Matt Frewer made a cameo as a crazy Aussie guy named Taggart I believe. Funny episode indeed.
I know I should expect this from a show filmed in the same Province as SG-1 and Atlantis, but I still did a double take when I saw a Genii "shotgun" in the drop down weapon rack.
"She hit me with the butt of a T-37 stunner, or a PQD Riot gun......I'm never going to pass that test."

yea, that was a great episode...and I hope henry sticks around also..
was also wondering if the memory that jack has will stick around for a while, and cause him some problems.
On a side note, I'm thinking about doing a Sheriff Carter costume...I know where to get the duty gear, NOT cheap at all, but I can get it...and I can get the uniform and badge, etc, etc, I would just need the patches...anybody else thought about this???

I thought about the Carter costume, as I already have the shirt. I looked briefly to see if they "borrowed" and existing Eureka patch, but it looks like they made a new one.
As for the season finale, I enjoyed it. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
