I can't believe there isn't a group for Andromeda yet.

Ah well. Even though I was never a fan of the show, for some reason the idea of Nietzschean costuming fascinates me.

So I'm working on my own "character" non canon of course. I started with a pair of bone blades off of eBay, added a pair of supple black studded leather bracers, a sleeveless "Ren faire" type shirt. Pair of black BDUs and some kick butt boots. I'll post pics when I get around my phobia of taking pics of myself then uploading them via dial-up connection.

I'm sure there will be an Andromeda section very soon.

If you need additional Nietzschean costuming references, I can point you to some episodes with examples.

If you're looking for male names, I think you already have an idea on how it's done. Examples include Cuchulain Nez Percé ("The Honey Offering"), Charlemagne Bolivar (James Marsters' character in "Into the Labyrinth") and, of course, Telemachus Rhade. Your character would also introduce himself by including the names of his parents & his pride (if applicable). The best example of this is Tyr Anasazi's declaration in "Music of a Distant Drum," when he regained his memory:

"I am Tyr Anasazi of Kodiak Pride, out of Victoria by Barbarossa. And I will never surrender."

Telemachus Rhade, however, didn't refer to a pride. He was just Telemachus Rhade, out of Majoram by Rhade.

I only saw one person do a Nietzschean costume. A tall, redheaded woman with a German accent was at Vulkon last November, dressed as Tyr... complete with boots, big gun & chainmail vest.

Good luck with the costume!

See... this is where I wish there was an Andromeda roleplaying game so I can learn more about the different Prides and whatnot.

I am working on a Nietzschean costume myself
Marsupial
I was wearing a Highguard Nietzschean costume for meeting Steve Bacic at Con*Cept last month, I even gave him one captain rank pin.

here's me and Rhade

I originally had the eBay bone blades but honestly they are crappy... we can see they guy had them carved in wood and moulded in hard resin... we can see the grain of the wood, plus the resin makes it uncompatible with some convention rules.
I altered them and had them casted in flexible material
see here

The HighGuard uniform was somehow tricky to replicate - even if I an not screen accurate. here is my worklog on the uniform.

There is no formal Andromeda costuming group, but I am trying to gather Drom fans to a common website named "RommieWeb 2" - there is a prop/costume section
