Ok Team,
Let's talk Team Online Chat. When would be a good day and time for everyone to meet in either a MSN or AIM chat room for Q & A, random silliness and other insanity we are famous for

?

Ok, the three thoughts that come next are:
How does Sunday afternoon sound ?
How does Wed night sound to folks ?
How about having two different chats ?
Yeah, this can be kinda time consuming to set up but we are looking to get the most folks possible in on the chat. While, in the end, we may not be able to get everyone, let's keep looking for the optimum set up. Hang in there gang, we're narrowing it down....

Well, I was thinking of having someone type up the major points in the chats and post them in the private forum for team members. That way if someone didn't make the chat, they can see what was talked about, respond or make it to the next chat, if they can.

That sounds like a great idea to me. Due to my rotating-shiftwork schedule, I can't guarantee that I'd be able to make any given chat window, and have never been a huge one for online chats anyways. Having the ability to peruse at least a basic synopsis of what was discussed and offer suggestions in our private team forum whenever we have a spare minute would make that less of a problem.

Ok folks !!!
We had some issues with the last night chat that we are going to fix for the Wed night chat and onward. First, we are going to switch to MSN chat !!! Yahoo chat has played on my last few nerves and we are making a switch. I need everyone to PM/EMail/or post here their MSN ID so I can set up the invite list. Second, we are going to have a different policy for the chat. We are going to do the business first and then, after we are done, engage in the social banter and joking that we all like to have at these things ! Let's be realistic here, some folks only have very limited time to be in these chats and do not have time to listen to us "yak" back and forth and joking. So, to make sure ALL the team members have a chance to participate in ALL of the planning and team related topics of the chat, I ask everyone to stick to the business until we are done. Then, after the "official" part of the team chat, everyone can break down and be the hethans we all know and love

. (This way, you won't hear....Sush David....Sush Rrok....Sush Everyone....like last time

) That is all ! I now return you to your regularly scheduled insanity, already in progress !

Well,
The MSN chat went pretty well, I would say. A few folks had some internet trouble and were kicked off MSN but were able to jump right back into the chat, which is something they could not do with Yahoo. While we have to give up the voice function (which is right handy for me, I might add), we did gain a much higher degree of stability. I think this is the way to go for the time being. If anyone has any other thoughts, please let me know. Thanks !
