Hi Folks,

Tanya and I have been talking this over since my last post announcing that she was stepping down as Team Leader. After a lengthy conversation we discovered that we had both agreed on one person. His name is Ed O'Connell.

In fandom, some of us tend to run around in the same circles, so his name may ring a bell, or it may not. Ed was one of the original members of the Rebel Legion. Ed helped the Rebel Legion grow in it's time of infancy, by becoming the CO of Echo Base (the NY chapter of the RL) for many years. Echo base grew quite large and I do beleive spawned off at least one other base during that period (forgive me, I'm not up on my rebel history these days ). Ed also served as the Legion Commander of the Rebel Legion for a time as well. To keep a long story short, Ed has left the Rebel Legion, and has found his way here

During my time as a the Commanding Officer for the 501st Legion's Northeast Remnant, I've requently worked with Ed many times when coordiating events that required both Rebel and Imp alike.

Ed is a great leader, and cares very much about his members. At one point, SG-2 boasted over 40 members. Though we do not have near that amount any more, I would not be shocked to see Ed bring that number back up. Ed is also a great costumer and is pretty handy with props as well.

I'm very excited that Ed has accepted my offer to become SG-2's TL. He has my complete support and confidence.

To give you some further background on Ed, maybe Katie (Hothgirl) can chime in as well. Lastly, and most importantly, we'll need Dan's support as well.

Once Ed is approved by Dan, I'm sure he'll be screening folks for who he can appoint the ATL spot, but first we must get approval from the head honcho

Ed certainly is an excellent choice for Team Leader!

I've worked alongside and with Ed since I became involved with fandom back in 2002 and he has become a very good friend of mine. He's always willing to lend a hand, a foot, a gun... he's motivated, a great leader and an all around swell guy.

Tanya did an awesome job at SG-2's Team Leader and I know Ed will keep up that oustanding record. Ed cares very much about his friends and in this case, teammates, and he's dedicated to whatever task he places in front of him. I have no doubt that Ed will do the same for SG-2...I also have no doubt that in time he will make sure all of you are armed!

Congrats Chanky! You're going to do great!

What I was saying is that you "might" be a canidate for an ATL, but being this new I know you are not ready for a full blown TL... The new TL always picks his/her ATL... This proves my point to not to put such a sharp point on the topic, but you must know all these rules to be an effective TL and that only comes with time on the boards and experiance. You will get there, just do your time...

And go buy some long sleeve BDU's and roll them up!

Dion and Katie, I want to thank you both for the high praise you have given me. YOu better watch it though, you know what happens when my ego gets going.

ok, seriously, I want to thank you both for not only your words, but thinking of me (tanya too!!!) for the position.

Pending final approval, I will be looking for people to fill in command positions. I still concider myself a newbie here (despite knowing some of you for years) and I'm not going to start making radical changes. (not even sure any changes are really needed, Other then filling in positions)

As Dion Stated, when I took command of Echo Base in the Rebel Legion, it covered an ungodly amount of territory. I'll be the first to admit that 1 person can't keep track of it all. It'll take team work to keep the Team growing and healthy.

I will look to everyone, whether you have a command position/title or not, to help out. and in addition to helping, no one should ever hesitate to speak up. you have a suggestion, make it, you see somethign bothering you? speak up, but I ask that you have a suggestion to make things better. The goal for everyone should be to make things better

I do have a Military background, so I have an understanding on how that side of thigns work. And I'm a fan of Both SG1 and Atlantis so I know where things diverge from there.

Like Dion has said, My appointment is pending official approval. till then, let's start brainstorming on how to get membership numbers back up and make this the Best Team the SGC has!

I have spoken to Dion at great lengths about Ed becoming SG-2 TL and I fully support him.

The next step is for the members of SG-2 to have a confirmation for the appointment of Ed to become SG-2's Team Leader.

A simple yes or no vote should take place over this week (starting today April 1st and ending April 8th), this should be set up in the SG-2 Private form with a simple poll and each vote will need a post to confirm that they voted. So long as the total number of votes on the pollis the same as the total number of SG-2 members who posted that they voted, the votes can be secret, however if the numbers to match, each member will have to be privately contacted.

Thank you Dan, I'm already starting to read the FAQ you posted, so I know everything. and my first duty will be to appoint someone smarter then me to remind me over everything (very Jack O'Neill isn't it? lol)
