In case anyone has missed the thread, I wanted to repost the link so everyone would know the costume requirements for full team membership. As stated in the thread, you can still be a member of a team without having a costume, but the costume grants you full team membership.
Here's the link:

Just how exactly do we have our costume(s) approved? Send pictures? Money?
HothGirl
Oct 4 2006, 07:43 PM
If I say money....
Well, I guess we can start a thread for costume approval. Stitch is doing that over on the Atlantis boards. I'll double check with lostncybr and see, but I would assume the TL and ATL can approve them.
Speaking of which, I need my costume approved too! lol
I'll talk to lostncybr and report when I hear back!

Duh Katie...lol Heard back from lostncybr...
Costume pictures go to our membership officer first (that's Bryan, aka: Stoyboy720) and from Bryan it will go to Dion (aka: Merlynny, who's the membership officer for Stargate Hero).
Make sense? lol
So I guess we should ask Bryan how he would like submissions for our costumes. Bryan?

You can send photos to me at my Gmail account:
BPStoyle (at) gmail (dot) com
BEfore it was asked to see as much of your costume as possible. I believe it was having shots from front, back, and both sides. Do the best you can, and make sure nothing's blocking your costume in the shot. I should see the whole costume. Don't worry about pics being too big, that's what the Gmail account is for. Just make sure the photos are a big enough resolution to see the costume in at least some detail.

I assume it doesn't really matter which costume you use, if you have multiple SG costumes.

whats wrong? If nothing else do a garrison uni, I have full blacks, but never wear much more then the pants belt boots and a wife beater shirt...Im considering a Ba'al head tattoo and then get to be the female version of Teal'c

Just about any SG costume will do. Even my Elizabeth Weir costume I put together for a total of $4.95 at the thrift store would count. And seriously, if you go to any conventions at all, normal clothing is just plain boring.

With most people, I would assume that is a joke. But with you I have to wonder. I know like tattoos, but seriously? Be a Jaffa for the rest of your life? I can just see you doing your Sith dominatrix costume with a Ba'al symbol on your forehead. Talk about clash of the fandoms.

No, the guns make me feel more secure. I think it's the 501st. style subjective nature os standards for a fan group.
I guess I just dont' understand the whole 'attempting to 'oganise' fandom thing...STARFLEET is a good example of how bad this can get.

Gotcha. I'm 501st and Rebel Legion and I know it can get tricky. Scifihero is one of the most relaxed fandoms I've been a part of, that's a good thing! But it is kinda nice to know what costumes people have incase we're needed for an event or con or something. A little organization isn't always a bad thing, so everyone's on the same page.

You dont HAVE to join a local team at all, you can remain an 'internet only" member, it just means you are not invited into the private forums, and to be honest, not everyone cares about that
you can still post on the public boards and in the other 'hero' sections

And in all reality, not much usually goes on in the private forums...maybe some pre-con/event planning, but as a whole I'd agree that the public forums are used more.

I have a question last year I put together an SG uniform however I heard that I should not use the SG1 shoulder patch in place of it I should use a group number dependent on where I live is that true? If so where can I get the patch and what would the group number be for Florida? Thanks

I think thats SG-13 territory? I could be wrong, check the regional maps
Realistically you can wear whatever patch you want to, but should you want to join your local regional team its best to wear their patch

Sorry I been out of the loop a while... So we are submitting pics for uniform/costume approval? I added OD Garrison Uniforms with velcro spec from the show. I believe PROPPER brand I think. I'll try and get some pics sent or am I just randomly evesdropping on something separate page? lol

You're in the right place Firefox. Just shoot me an email with some attachments or even a PM with some picture links (as long as the links are pretty good quality in order to see the costume) and I'll take care of ya.

Hmm. Are we allowed to take any liberties with the costumes? What I mean is... I want a black BDU outfit, but I want green stripes (season 4 style). If I'm remembering correctly that would make me a special ops techinician or some such? Would that be acceptable?
Cheers!
