Did anyone watch the premire of heroes on monday night. I thought it has good potential.

I watched it and was overall impressed. I worry though that with such a large array of characters (more 'Heroes' will be discovered in future episodes) that the plot line could get confusing, or prove too distracting to really care about any of the characters.

Pardon the obvious pun, but I dug the "hot" cheerleader. The Japanese guy cracked me up.

Oh yeah, from what I caught of it, there's room for some wicked story lines and character development.

That Japanese guy was a riot, so was the psychic painter.

They are running this against FOX's "Vanished" I think this will be great show... I loved the pilot which I got off iTunes free with gift card from a Movie Theater two weeks ago! I can not wait for next week and we get to see the cop that can hear peoples thoughts! What crime stopper that would be!

I too enjoyed this show. I just hope they don't throw in too many characters too quickly, it'd be nice to get to know some of the stories of the characters that were introduced this week.

What Channel/time is this show on? I meant to catch it, since i saw the commercial for it once, but then completely forgot about it! Ack!

This is shaping up to be pretty good, saw it last night and it's getting interesting.

I'm just not sure about the constant beatings the cheerleader takes. Okay, we get it, she's unkillable.

Don't forget time hopping Hiro.

I missed a few episodes and only caught the tail end of last nights ep, and seeing a subway frozen, and Hiro with the "apocalyptic" future look, complete with Katana, made me wonder what the frell I missed.

I was impressed with last night's ep. This show has definately piqued my interest.

I am absolutely loving Heroes so far...Hiro's definitely my favorite.

but back to Hiro. you just gotta love the guy, he's against using his powers to cheat at gambling....
and when he gets kocked out with first puch by the guy at the casino....then he time hops from the future, he can speak english very well, and is carrying a freaking katana.!!! how cool is that

He didn't go into the future when he was knocked out. He came from some point in the future back to warn Peter of something. You can tell this because a) he wore different clothes and spoke english. When Hiro teleports himself his age and attire don't change. he comments that he almost didn't recognize Peter without his scar, which he obviously has not gotten yet.

sorry, I didnt mean to imply he was time hopping, just that you see him get knocked out, and the next time you see him is when he appears from the future in the subway to warn peter..

OK, last night's episode totally rocked. Especially when Nathan took off in that sonic boom. I was literally knocked back in my seat!

The thing that has me wondering in last night's episode was, when/where did Hiro learn to speak English? I'm not talking about the future Hiro but present Hiro, he was speaking pretty good English all of a sudden at that diner out in Nevada or wherever he was. For somebody who started out the trip speaking no English, except for the possibility of a few phrases, his English was remarkably good this episode.

Well, he has time manipulation skills, why not slow time and practice his english?

I sort of caught up with the series, when NBC ran a "Heroes" marathon on Sunday, except I think they didn't show the first episode (unless it was the one that Hiro traveled to the future to see NYC go boom!)

I completely spaced watching it when the series began, but now I think I'll follow it. Taped last night's episode but was too exhausted from work to watch it, but I gather it had something to do with Nicki's husband.

I thought the same thing Phil. Though, his friend 'could' have been giving him lessons when we weren't looking.

There may be some continuity problems here.

If he's conversant enough in English to talk to Nathan in the diner, he shouldn't have to leave messages for Isaac in Japanese. You would think it would be at least in broken English.

So there is a disconnect.

It makes more sense for Hiro to be able to speak English fluently in the future, since presumably he has had time to learn the language by that time.

It also makes sense that he would come back into the past to make sure that Peter Petrelli picks up the phone when Hiro calls Isaac again.

But in the present, it seems that Hiro's grasp of the English language comes and goes.

I noticed that too and I'd say his grasp is good but not great. Maybe he was a little less than confident before, without his friend/translator present. But he felt he HAD to talk to the guy so he used what he could remember. Most foreign countries, especially Japan, teach English from an early age. So he really should already know it.

I liked seeing the change though, from nerdy Hiro to the future Hiro with a perfect command of the language.

I enjoyed the ep.

It could be that Hiro has a basic grasp of the language, but is not confident in using it, But he needed to speak to talk to Petrillie, so he did the best he could..

I really didnt think his grasp of english was any better, he may just now be getting a better grasp on how to use it...

I also liked the way peter was able to finish the painting....

and the way Petrelli shot up and away with a sonic boom....that was cool

that reminded me of neo in the matrix that was cool

Tonight's ep was funny. Though I didn't get to watch it all, fell asleep gorramit!

But I did see the cell phone convo between Hiro, his buddy and the dynamic duo of Stoned Man and Fly Boy.

Hiro:*Looking smug* I had a sword.

For those that haven't been paying attention, Monday, 4 December, is the last episode of Heroes before the mid-season break. Probably not a good episode to miss.

So, who's looking forward to the spinoff "Hiro vs. the T-Rex"?

I just read an article that said Eric Roberts will be joining the cast of Heroes.

And I don't know why I didn't put this together earlier, but Claude the invisible man is played by Christopher Eccleston from season 1 of the new Dr. Who series on Sci-Fi.

Did anyone read the article at Scifi-Wire today? Some interesting ideas brought up. Not sure how I feel about them entirely. Guess I will have to wait and see.

I like that idea really. It's like a story arc in comic books.

Thats actually pretty cool.

and it will keep the show fresh and allow the introductory of new characters while (hopefully) keeping some characters we have become attatched to.
