Here's a pic of me and Andy (one of my Airsoft team mates) at an off-world event last weekend. wink.gif
We had fun, the natives were friendly, weather was good but the ground was rather boggy in places and I went swimming several times...

Cool Steve! biggrin.gif

Looks like you had fun!
CaptAres
Wow thats awsome steve, I hope to bbe doing one here soon
sc@sgc
It was fun! smile.gif Although I don't actually remember the gate being there as we patrolled that particular bit of the woods, I guess the Asgard must have beamed it in. wink.gif

I'd never heard of Airsoft before researching and creating my first Stagate costume, now I get to play dress-up AND shoot people too! laugh.gif
CaptAres
yea that is fun

Isn't it fun when no one truly dies... I have always found war games to be enjoyable and fun. It was only when the other side started using real live rounds that it became not fun. I still have a few bad dreams and some remorse... but that's a story for another day. The last war game I was in was back in 1991 and I miss it. I'm looking forward to the fun again. But I'll miss the air support from the old days.

id like to know about the airsoft in the uk,, and how i can jion in. smile.gif

Basically there are a number of airsoft sites around the UK, so best bet for having a go is to find one of these in your area, get in touch and get a hire gun booked and then go and play and have fun.

Sign up to the airsoft forums and have a read, most of your questions be answered there...but in brief airsoft is similar to paintball but instead of paint you shoot a 6mm bb and use a realisitc weapon (looks, feels and in some way operates like a real fire arm)

Anything specific you want to ask feel free to, a number of us airsoft, some good forums are

Arnies Airsoft
Airsoft Community
and we have a member here (Redcap) who has a good website Practical Airsoft

Theres a team forum listed as SGC UK on Airsoft Community where a number of the UK SG teams have congregated...and we from SG-4 are in the process of setting up a team...called SG-4 (genius arent we)
daniel slack

Sheffields close but not exactly around the corner, plus they are closing their existing site and moving to a new one in Sheffield, there is alos mention of the possibility of new sites near Leeds and Manchester.

I live in Liverpool which isnt too far, dont get to airsoft often though

Man, I still like any excuse to see that pic, It's just a shame I didn;t strike a more "dynamic" pose as I think I was just about to fall over or had just gotten up!

Andy.

Daniel - if you're still about, and wanting to get into airsoft, give us a shout via PM wink.gif

Chris (Starburst) and I are trying to get a Stargate-themed airsoft team going here in the north of England (well, Yorkshire & Lancashire), as we're both members of an existing airsoft team with members that like Stargate smile.gif

Si

P.S. Our regular site is SYA Loxley in Sheffield at the mo wink.gif

Col. Parsons,

I'll drop you a PM if you don't mind. I'm in Lancashire and I'd like to get to a skirmish soon. I've got my P90 sulking in the wardrobe because I haven't got off my backside yet.

Regards

It's a shame they didn't use that one in the SFX article instead of the one they did! lol

Just in case anyone's wondering Andy did an interview with SFX, August (#159) issue. If anyone subscribes, I believe the articles at the bottom of Page 31 titled "Superfan"
I haven't read it myself yet but Andy says it gives a decent bit of publicity for Airsoft. smile.gif
starburst
SG-4 in a mag...if anyone with the article has or knows someone with a scanner please get it on the computer and post it up biggrin.gif

BTW, next time you guys go to Pegasus gimme a call and Ill come with biggrin.gif
sc@sgc
I like the new black outfit there!. I need to put one together myself sometime. smile.gif

The article in SFX is about Andy's fandom and mentions our UK Airsoft team - SG-7
Technically SG-4 are still in it though as Andy, Norman and myself pictured are all members here. lol

starburst
Nice one!!

I still think that we should try to organise a combined SGC UK team at a weekender
