I'm looking for sources for a First Contact style Starfleet uniform. I know about Shadowdale. Can anyone suggest some other possible sources?

Thanks.

I think that it's Roddenberry.com, with an E not a U; you might not find the site spelling it with a U.

Check both Roddenberry.com and Ebay. No luck. One costume seller in Asia makes the top but it's not canon at all.

I read some where that if you take the Voyager uniform pattern and modify the shoulder portion with quilting segments and use grey instead of one of the division colors you have your-self the First Contact style. If you give me a few days I'll try to post the info on the shoulder line spacing based on the one I picked up from the experience online store years ago.

starfleettailor.com

you can get the uniform top with up to three different color undershirts and interchangeable sleeve stripes

however, the owner of the site is currently unable to work on costumes due to an accident. she should be back to work in march.

Thank you both for the info.

BTW...I hadn't thought about moding a Voyager uniform...hummm

Your best bet is to obtain a correct pattern (Rodd.com will be carrying them in the near future, so I'm told) and have a competent local tailor make it for you. What ever you do, DO NOT use SDC!

That sucks. SDC makes great stuff. I've certainly had my issues with their turn around time but it's too bad that a good thing seems to be going downhill. I would really like to use them.

I checked with starfleettailor.com. It seems that they're out of commission for good.

OK...Here's another question for the braintrust. Assuming Rodd.com stocks the First Contact pattern it is likely that they will only stock the shirt and not the pants. I noticed that unless you go through SDC pants are hard to come by. I supposed I could use some kind of off-the-rack pants but I'm afraid they would look like...Well, like off-the-rack pants. Non of the Starfleet uniforms appear to have normal pockets. They also seem to have places where a holsters can be clipped.

So that said...Thought? Solutions?

The "standard" FC uniform is a jumpsuit with a shirt underneath. So I'd suspect that Rodd will have a pattern for that.

I know there are two versions...The jumpsuit and the two-piece. I think both were seen in First Contact. It seems as the uniform progressed you tended to see male "hero" characters wearing the the two-piece. That's the version I'd like to do and why I was asking about the pants.

While I'm not particularly heavy a form fitting jumpsuit might not be so flattering. rolleyes.gif

You could probably use the pattern for the TNG pants.

Thank you. The fashionthrutime.com site miht be a possible solution.
