Wow that is cool

If anyone is interested check out www.propstore.com they have a lot of the costumes and weapons from the movie. You could get some nice reference pics. Although I'm not sure if you can host them as I think they are watermarked.

Any ID on the vests? Or do you think theya re custom?

99.9% sure they are custom made.
TrooperCooper
I was actually considering purchasing a vest and overalls (Mac's and Sarge's respectively) with the idea of having them patterned up for a small run of costumes. Not sure if there would be continued interest in that venture...
Templar
"You don't look like a Mac."

"Matsuhiro *missed middle name* Takahashi."

"So......Mac."

I'd be interested in the R.R.T.S. rifle, looks kind of familiar though.
Johnny Rico
The rock has a molded m-16 or m-4 version and Grimm has a modified g-36. The Gatling gun is actually just a 30mm single barrel with three barrels moving around the one working barrel. The kid uses g-36 with a short front stock and no but stock, like the cheap air soft guns. You can tell Grimm’s by the sight on the rifle. The rocks has a different sigh and then you see the rail on top and the butt stock and you can tell it is either and m-16 or m-4 still working on the shot gun though. I love this movie due to I love the game and I just watched it today. I will post some screen caps if I can later.
lostncybr
I'm still considering doing this costume. I really like several of the weapons so I might build one off of a cheapo G-36K. So I would be interested if someone else did the work on the costume and vest!
TrooperCooper
The major problem comes with the investment - £250 or thereabouts for each piece, then having the vest patterned up and the overalls material matched and made... on my low budget at this time, I would need some solid backing to get this done, and it would definitely be a team effort (though hopefully with fantastic results!)...

The other problem would be belt and pouches, which I believe were also custom made for the production for practical use (though you get some really nice shots of it in the DooM special features in 'basic training').

Screen caps!
TrooperCooper
I'll work on some screencaps this evening. The "Basic Training" documentary covers the actors' training by an ex-member of the SAS in Prague before filming began in the Czech Republic. You see the guys training with AKs and such, but I am certain the belt gear they are carrying is the same as that in the film.

Got some screencaps - will upload now smile.gif

RIGHT! Belts/pouches...

The Rock showing off his rear pouches - all of which appear practical, and like gas mask pouches? I also see a baton pouch there, as well as the extension for his hip holster.

In the training room - note the close-up of the holster, though a bit blurry, and a long ammunition pouch being worn on the right side of the belt by Razaaq Adoti (who is left handed).

Pouches and belt gear on the training ground. A few interesting pouch variations here - mainly in pouch positioning. I see Destroyer keeps his holster on his belt rather than on his hip (my personally preferred choice, tbh) and Reaper has a gas mask bag/dump pouch on the back of his belt?

Figured I'd show off the weapons - interesting looking at The Kid's weapon... honestly looks like it's based off of a Sten Gun...

Lastly, the whole lot together - looks so damn sweet...
CaptAres
cool pics I want to do a doom costume
Templar
Excellent work!

Let the costume IDs begin! lol
Danger Kronk
I finally got around to watching this movie the other day. The costumes didn't look too difficult. If we need the vests custom made, Robert (TheVestGuy) could do them.
CaptAres
cool I can't wait to do one
lostncybr
When I get time, I would like to do this costume and I am going to do some of the weapons smile.gif Once my shop is up

Also, TrooperCooper, would it be OK for me to add these pictures to my Doom Reference pictures album?
CaptAres
same here dan I think that would be one cool costume
TrooperCooper
Dan, that would be quite alright. I am wondering, though - do these pouches look familiar to anyone? Are they a purchaseable item?

That said, I could probably find out if I visited the Propstore of London and made a purchase... it's only 20 minutes from me.
CaptAres
dude that would great then at least we could see if they are purchaseable
Templar
I may be mistaken, but when Sarge, shoots the Carmak Imp, he uses the Robocop style handgun.
Rrok
Are you sure the Rock's gun is completely made from an M-4/M16? I noticed the magazine looks uniform with the otrher weapons, G36 mags. Could it maybe just be a different butt stock and scope to differenciate?
ElGato
Most of the Autos were inside custom made clamshells. Prop Store still has many of the Hero and Stunt weapons on their web site.
CaptAres
do you have a link to their website
TrooperCooper
www.propstore.com

Sarge kills the Carmack imp with a Desert Eagle. The rest seem to use HK USPs, I think they are USP Compact models.

CORRECTION: They use SOCOMs. Checked the original moulded props.
TrooperCooper
I am now the proud owner of a production made Sarge uniform. Will post photos asap!

And here they are!

Sarge's overalls and vest, communicator, ear piece! I also got a knife which I haven't attached to the belt yet. All I need to complete this baby is a few belt pouches and a Viper airsoft adjustible holster!
jasteelbonnet
Well I`ve just got my First Prop piece from this movie.

Started small & I have a RRTS Earpiece.
I do have a belt with dropleg holster & HK MK23 SOCOM pistol.

Though all being well I may have a vest soon biggrin.gif

Great looking stuff! It looks like it is made out of resin and sheet metal. Can you give us a break-down on it?

All the main rifle body dress up parts are milled from seperate blocks of aluminium. The parts such as the handguard have been bent, and there should be a cast aluminium sling swivel on the front left hand side which was missing on mine (working on replacing it with something similar for the time being). The only exception is the butt, which I can't seem to properly ID... I *think* it's ceramic, but I cannot be sure.

The rifle inside it is a stunt rubber G36C. Looking to replace it with an airsoft ASAP smile.gif
TrooperCooper
Been a while since I posted anything about my growing collection or whatever, but I thought I would show this in-progress link:

http://www.doommoviearchive.co.uk

It's still being put together and content being written up, but I will be breaking down the costumes, weapons and other props as best I can for collectors and costumers alike. smile.gif

Oh jeez... Pete is over here too? Man I can not get rid of... EVIL CAT NUNS!

Hahahaha!

As an aside, I managed to get that job with Millennium FX.

They're lovely people. jumpy.gif
Rook
Nice layout Pete. It will look real nice when it actually has content.

No, that wasn't a snide remark, I'm serious (for once). smile.gif

What I really need now are a faceless mannequin and a tailor's bust, so I can get photos of gear up on the site.
TrooperCooper
Just thought I'd let everyone know - the site is getting lots of new articles and photographs now, so check it out!
jasteelbonnet
Know your busy with your HALO project & the Warthog (Fantastic vehicle BTW from the photos I`ve seen) though only just found your DOOM site & very impressed mate. Have it booked maked & look forward to future updates. Still need to get my Airsoft G36 decorated up to look akin to Reapers or Duke`s version. As I doubt I can afford an actual prop one sad.gif

Anyway Excellent work on the site (munkey did it?).
