September 1, 2006, founder and former President (Commanding Officer) of SG-Command.NET, Daniel "Lostncybr" Kim opened a new parent site for science fiction costuming and prop building called SciFiHero.NET. SciFiHero.NET is the parent site to several other science-fiction dedicated costuming and prop building fan clubs, such as: StargateHero.NET, GalacticaHero.NET, FireFlyHero.NET, ResidentEvilHero.NET, ChickHero.NET, Anime-Hero.NET and others to be named in the upcoming months.

Mr Kim explained that "SciFiHero.NET is what its name implies. It’s about a network of sites that provide a community and resources for Science Fiction Fans to become Heroes. When we put on a costume, it’s not so we can just become another mundane, it’s so that we can become a Hero. All of the sites that are part of the SciFiHero network are first and foremost a club for fans of Science Fiction, Costuming and Prop building. We are a community that not only exists in cyberspace, but also in the real world. We encourage our members to go to conventions in costume, have fan gatherings and meetings, and to meet and spend time with each other beyond the internet."

Mr Kim went on explaining that "SciFiHero.NET has simple goals; create a fun and friendly community were fans can make friends, share ideas and resources with each other; to help provide information and education on making costumes and props; and to get fans back to conventions in costume."

When asked about his decision to resign as SG-Command.NET's Commander, Mr Kim said, "It was really a hard decision for me to resign since I did create the site and have lead it for the past several years, but it was right thing to do. The new owner and I disagreed as to the direction of the organization, and I felt that I could better serve the fans better by starting over. I'm still a member of SG-Command.NET and I'm still helping members out when I can, but with the new site, my time on SG-Command.NET is more limited." Many of the key players in SG-Command.Net’s Command Staff, and leaders of the club's teams, have joined the new site and are assuming leadership roles for this new robust organization.
