heh, yeah, I'm well aware of the Gundam PODs. Very slick setup. I REALLY want to know how they engineered that monster monitor setup.

I went to ACES at the Mall of America last weekend and they have a 180 degree "bowl" mounted to the front of their sim cockpits.
They have a projector that displays the video on the inside of the bowel. Pretty slick system really, but not as cool as the Gundam PODs.
There was a steady stream of people coming and going... which is interesting since it cost like $35 for a half hour of play or $60 for an hour.
The Tesla pods are supposed to be nicer than the original BT ones. But they're still as expensive as heck.
I wonder how much it would cost to liscense the upcoming game to run in an arcade/cockpit style setup.
The Tesla and BT cockpits had specialized PC boards and video splitters that allowed them to run each of the sub monitors in the game
on actual monitors. Which just adds to the realism.
I'd like to get a set of the Tesla pods, but they're very expensive, and I imagine it would take quite a long while to get them paid off at $5
a sortie.
I have one of the Mechwarrior 4 coin op games. It's more of an arcacde shooter. Very simplified and streamlined. It's a "grinder" where they
throw hoardes of enemies at you. The enemy is killed with one successful hit, but when it's 15 on 1 at the higher levels, it can still be hard.

Every few rounds they throw in a "boss fight" which is more traditional MW4, where you have to whittle down your enemy.
It's fun, but not as immersive as the PC version of MW4.
