Just finished and put this on for the first time tonight. And yes, I realize I'm missing my Pulse Rifle. DOn't rub it in.

Some detail shots of the graphitti. Anyone that really knows me will recognize the symbol on the chest plate.

Nice job on the graphics.

One question about the silver parts of the weathering, did you paint the silver on the OD or did you paint a silver base and then mask it before painting the OD? If you did the brush on method you might want to consider maybe masking over parts of the silver and painting OD over it to achieve a more realistic chipped paint effect. For fine weathering sanding away the topcoat with something like 0000 steel wool to reveal the undercoat works very well.

Nitpicking aside, great job. I really wish I had the money for a set of USCM gear but it's hideously expensive, especially when you figure in the cost of the BDUs and the pulse rife. Maybe one of these I'll find a set on clearance; yeah right.

I painted the entire base coat a brushed aluminum then the OD on top of that. The problem I ran into was that the "matte" clear coat was much shinier than I would have liked, so I had to coat it, let it dry, buff it with steel wool, then blackwash on top of all that.

Nice work soldier! Now get yourself a sharp stick and prepare to be bug food!

Actually, that's Marine not soldier, a soldier is a member of the Army and Marines are . . . well, Marines. You could get yourself hurt talking to a real Marine like that, calling them a soldier.

That's not gonna happen before DCon, unfortunately.

Great job on the costume! Do you ever where it on base? When I was at Lackland we had Marines all over the place.

Nice work... I stopped the build on my FG armor. Got a set of Spats when he had his sale. I just finished my Spuls. It is my second PR and I got it to loan out. It has been added to the group of loaner weapons at the AL board.

So Doc, why'd you stop the build on your FG armor? It is frustrating at times, I sure can agree to that!

I started painting, but not happy with the way it came out. That and I need more webbing for puting it together. Just got my stuff from Matt N so I will be starting again soon.

Good deal, don't give up on it! If you read my build post, you know I had my share of frustration!!

I start with painting it Krylon Camo Green-

Then add the "screen humbrol green" in a swirls... then the next "largest" color- the brown, then the tan to swirl amongst them. Finally the grey wisps to tie it all together.

A good black wash to "set" all the colors. I actually enjoy the painting process the most.

Next to camo, I like the OD version best. It sets off the camo well. My favorite graffiti of yours is the "NO ALIENS"! That's priceless!

The OD looks a little better with the darker BDUs that Alex has. Oh, and with a Pulse Rifle.

That's the thing about Pulse Rifles these days, they're fairly easy to come by. The rest of the uniform is harder.

Yeah, a Spulse Rifle goes for about $200, which is relatively cheap by comparison. But since this was such a last minute costume, I didn't have time to plan for that. It's definitely on the post-DCon list though. That, and a plush facehugger.

Nice Job Marine, Airman Armed forces Person (think that`s the safe bet ). The OD works very well even amongst the smao armoured Marines.

I'll take some more after I weather it a bit.

Regarding the welder, in the film those that had them hanging from their gear had
them hanging by a simple piece of cord. In the past, others at the Aliens Legacy
have attached small fastex buckles to the welder side with a screw and some
webbing, and made a webbing loop for the belt with the other half of the buckle.
Seems to work okay.
