My best friend is coming to her FIRST CON in November with us! She isn't into scifi, costuming, or anything remotely fannish but wants to see what it's all about. One thing she loves is Bones and she asked if she could be Bones for the convention. I'm so proud of her!!! biggrin.gif so of course we're doing it! I have the following pictures plus a few more:

I'm pretty sure I can find the blue jumpsuit at the local army navy store (or something close to it). I already found the ID card and patches on patchgeeks and etsy, but it's the vest-thingy I'm at a loss for. I will check the army navy store, but I've never seen anything like it? It doesn't really even look like a vest. Can anyone ID that for me or at least point me in the right direction to something similar? (oh, and if there is a better place for this post please someone move it! thx!)

It appears to be the Blackhawk Load-Bearing Suspenders. You can check it out on their site.

That one looks pretty close but the belt looks little different and im not sure how she attched that cell phone pouch either. The DeeRing is below it and it would need to clip to something... blink.gif

I know I love all this costuming but don't go to these con's, but I was looking and though better images would help.

The Vest is a match with some mods.

Thank you thank you y'all! If i can find a knock-off of that vest and find some pouches to put on it, it'd work. Trying to go cheap on this since she isn't super interested in costuming, and I'll probably end up picking up most of the tab for it, lol.

Has anyone tried looking at sites that sells stuff for the civilian sector like search & rescue, EMTs, etc. I'm not saying that it's something meant for those professions but that because we focus so much on military hardware for most of our costuming it skews us to thinking that everything must be military related in origin. I'd suggest expanding the search to stuff designed for the civilian sector just in case the 'vest' is not military in nature but civilian. And if worse comes to worse you could always try contacting The Vest Guy and see how much it would cost to have it custom made.

I would try Quartermaster or even my new fav ADS.
