Hey it's me...sorry for the looooong absence. everything from SDCC, my birthday superhero party, and dealing with problems at home. I have finally gotten the time to come back. I recieved the SAAB HE helmet before the SDCC. and with very little time I could not get it completed. blue.gif

so with Halloween looming, I planned to finish the job. Has anyone else completed theirs? some of my peices don't quite fit. the 2 large helmet halves. And with the enclosed note...the only instructions. lol "visor supports need 2 R & L." I am kinda confused. Am I suppose to cut the enclosed styrene sheet like the shape on the note? where does it go? what do we use for a hing for the top?

It kinda fun trying to figure it out, but, we the amount of time left for Halloween. and the time it has spent in a box in my room since I got it, makes me sad.
so, I must complete this!! any help?

thanks!!!

Ok I went to the local hardware store...and was stared down by this person cause I was holdingthe fron part of the helmet. He asked me "Prop master?"
No, just a fan collecting props. He introduces himself as Ian, which so happens to have worked on the show as a prop handler. He told me he might have some old stuff from the show left over at the shop. WOW!!! How is that for coincendence?

Get his contact information! We might be doing a S:AAB mini-con one day! I personally know Dragon Dronet, Bear Burges, Mike Moore all who worked on S:AAB making props for the series!

The Helmet halves should fit togeather. As I recall, they nestle close, but not "air tight."

Does yours have a small flange on the back side piece, that runs on the L/R sides at the bottom.
I believe the prototype helmet had that as a guide.

Pics of yoru kit would always help. smile.gif

Soon as I get a kit, I'll be making up an assembly tutorial for everyone.

Oh, and welcome back!

I got his number. He texted me last night saying he found some dog tags, and will be calling his mates about any other props they may have.
S:AAB mini con?!! I am soooo for that!!!

I will take pics tonight and post.

If you ever do and it’s not too far away from me (for example, I can get to California pretty easy), I’d be there for sure!

Nice new friend to make biggrin.gif The Mini S:AAB sounds excellent. That mean we Brit`s will have to do our own over here in blighty.

I think most of the S:AAB actors still live in the Los Angeles area. I also know some of the folks who run Condor Convention in San Diego, who might be willing to give us a room to hold a mini S:AAB con smile.gif Condor is typically in the February time frame. http://www.condorcon.org/html/mainmenu.html

Well highly doubt I`d be able to make it though good luck if you guys can turn it into a minicon for S:AAB biggrin.gif

I could snag a flight down to San Diego that wouldn’t break the bank and I think I could pass that by “Household 6” (the wife in Army radio speak) if I had enough advance notice. Getting the time off from the day job is the hard part, so I usually need at least a month or two ahead of time to get any time off.
Crying shame so few people remember the series now, a S:AaB reunion of crew and cast would be neat, and I’m sure many of them could use the appearance money as some of them haven’t worked much lately that I’m aware of. Look them up in IMDB, you’d be surprised how little work most of them have gotten. Kristen Cloke appears to have been doing the minimum roles to keep her SAG membership active.

UPDATE.

Been having probs with uploading pics..will try again. Seems the helm pieces don't quite match up. If I have the top hinge installed, the side buckles don't match up correctly. and if I have the buckles lined up (like in the hole guide lies), the two halves won't fit together at all.

Try getting a free account at Photobucket.com They even have a web based picture upload tool that allows you
to search your PC's file folders and pick the pictures you want to upload.

You can easily link your images in from there.

Did I mention it's free? smile.gif

Any luck with the pictures?
