Okay, I took the Saratoga blue prints to a couple places today to see about getting copies made.

Copies would be back & white and not "color" copies (the originals were Blue & white instead of Black & White.

One place can do them, but the overall quality is only about 95% of the original with some minor fuzziness/bleeding
in certain large black areas (titles at the top mostly). The final cost to "you" of a set made at this location
would be "around" $15.

The second location can do the B&W copies at 100% original print quality, but the production cost is 3X what the first place charges.
You'd be looking at appx. $25 not including shipping.

The prints are appx. 11x17" in case anyone is interested. There are FIVE sheets in the set of blueprints.

Which option would you all prefer? Site 1 ($15) or site 2 ($25)?

Keep in mind that all "profits" after manufacturing costs will be split and half will be donated to SFH for site maintainennce costs,
which Dan now pays out of pocket. The profit margin, believe it or not, is actually about equal between both printing locations. We
won't be making a killing on these. It's prop replication, not the lottery. smile.gif

Well as first one easy to see which I went with $25.

What sort of time frame would we be looking at Russ from paying to actually recieving these?
Also would shipping these be in the hard tubes for protection?
What would the shipping be on these to the UK?

Well, "ideally" I'd ship this WITH the rest of the paper props, so a mailing tube might not be necessary,
and the shipping woulld be included into the rest.
I wish I could get them printed on a heavyweight cardstock or something, but the standard thickness of paper
is all that's available locally. These would be printed on an architect's printer for printing plans/scematics.

Well what sort of time frame for the other paper props & more importantly how far along are they?

ALso if shipping altogether how would they be shipped Internationally then?

Sorry for all the questions but well I think from now on I`d rather have as much info upfront as possible being an International customer.

Honestly, I'm not sure on the time frame. I actually HAVE all the paper props in hand now. A couple I need to scan and tweak, and
we're waiting until Phil has time so he can finish my nagging, er, I mean suggestions for the Captain's Lavatory/Head cards.

I don't know how much shipping will be. Originally I wanted to ship them in a priority box, but that may push the shipping higher than it needs to be.
I'll probably end up "experimenting" with shipping. That is to say, ship a set to one person, see how much it costs and let everyone know.

No problem with the questions mate! smile.gif

Hi there. I realize I'm a little behind the times on this, but this is something that interests me a fair bit. Is there still any planning on this?
Rook
It is still in the planning stage. Been busy with other projects but possibly this winter we'll get this going.
