My name's Lee and I found out about this site at Shevacon from SG-9 during their panel.

I am a member of the USS Yeager; the oldest Starfleet chapter in West Virginia (hell, the ONLY Starfleet chapter in West Virginia; lol). I've just ordered my first piece of a Star Trek costume and my wife has one cobbled together. She is currently hunting down pieces for a Kahlan Amnell, Legend of the Seeker costume.

I am also a con chair for my local sci-fi convention, Rising Star. We're a small con, but we're trying to grow. We hope that some of the groups on here would consider appearing at our con. I think it would really help us out.

Welcome to the site.

From a quick search and your sig info I assume this is the con you're speaking of.

Rising Star

I'm sure you'll find some people here who could be willing to help.

Yep on both counts, that would be us. You could also check us out on MySpace as well.

I've also posted something in the 2010 conventions forum on this site.

welcome to the site!

Which costume of Kahlan Amnell is your wife doing? She has three so far - Confessor white, traveling green, and for this season, black leather with purple trim...

re: your con - looks like your focus is on fandom and not science fiction specifically....who do you usually try to get as your big attraction? authors, costumers, superfans, modelers, actors?

West Virginia is a long way for me to travel for a small con, but I'm sure there are lots of other SFH members who are closer to you and can help you out!

She wants the white one eventually, but the one she's really focused on this season's black leather one. We can't find any patterns for it, so she's just looking for pieces that are relatively close. Do you have any resources we don't know about?

Basically, whoever we can get. We don't really have a budget to speak of so it's whoever wil come out for free or next to free. The last two years we had an actor named Ed Trotta who has had a few minor roles iin some genre shows like ST:Voyager, B5, Macgyver, etc. He moved here from L.A. to help out the local art scene.

I hope so. We could use all the help we can get.
