Rank is not as important as the Position. This policy is how Team Leadership rank is achieved in the StargateHero.NET Organization.
DEFINITION OF TEAM LEADERSHIP POSITIONS:
The Team Leader (TL) is the commanding officer of an officially recognized Team.
The Assistant Team Leader (ATL) is the second in command of the team, and acts in behalf of the TL when required or by delegation by the TL. The ATL also assists the TL in the management and leadership of the Team.
The Detachment Leader (DL) commands an approved "detachment" of a regional team.
The Assistant Detachment Leader (ADL) assists the DL in the management of the detachment.
The Official StargateHero.NET rank is based on the numbers of members in the team.
Members of the Executive Council or StargateHero.NET Staff are advanced 1 rank level.
These numbers include the Team Leader. The Assistant Team Leader (ATL) is one typically one rank below the Team Leader
Less then 4 members = 1st Lieutenant (Lt JG)
4 to 11 members = Captain (Full Lt)
12 to 23 members = Major (Lt Commander)
24 to 39 members = Lt Colonel (Commander)
40 + members = Colonel (Captain)
A Team Leader of a large Team can have multiple Detachments, typically 1 for each 4 members (including the alternates). A Team Leader of a large geographically spread out area can divide up the Team into Detachments. A Detachment must have at least 4 members unless authorized by the Team Commandant.
Promotions of Team Leaders are at the discretion of the Team Commandant.
The Team Commandant can ask that a specific team's membership be audited for promotional review.
Periodically the SGC-Commander will request a team membership audit and will consider promoting Team Leaders who qualify for promotion.
Once a Team Leader is promoted, they can promote their ATL, DL, and ADL. This is typically one of the first duties assigned to them by the Team Commandant.
