I heard about a show called The Unit, and caught a half of an episode a week ago. I had never heard of it before! Then I found out that it was already on for a full season and the frakin' DVD was already out! A trip to Target and the Unit Season 1 DVD set was mine.

Mindy and I watched first episode last night with dinner and didn't finish until the first disk (4 episodes) were finished. Mindy really liked it, and really felt and related to the women in the show. It was tough not to go to the next disks, but since there are only 13 episodes, I want to spread it out.

I highly recommend this series and the DVD set!

OK, I know you're busy, but how are you just hearing about this now? I mean, we had several discussions about it on the 'other board'.

I caught much of the beginning of Season 1 and then work got hectic and I was unable to see the rest of it. I'm planning on picking up the box set and finishing the first season.

I've been watching it and I like it, even if the way they portray the secrecy of Delta is a little dated. As I understand it, Delta is something of an open secret these days and is not clouded in quite the same amount of secrecy as it once was. I don't know what they normally say they are within the Army but I know that to the outside world Delta operators typically try to pass themeselves off as civilians. Aside from that, it's a great show and I really like the characters and I'd love to see a Battle of the Black Sea (Blackhawk Down) sort of episode in where the Unit members have to operate with more conventional forces like Rangers to hilight the difference in the way Delta operates.

I`ve been watching this over in the UK & truely enjoy the series.

They certainly have grounded characters & nothing is too far fetched either.

Riceball,
On Tuesday (UK on Bravo) night they actually played an episode styled in that fashion. The Unit had apprehended 3 leaders in AStan I think it was. A running gun battle was fought from vehicles till they came across a Logistics base (Some Shipping containers in the middle of nowhere) with a small detach of Army Soldiers for security.

The Logistics were lead by a female LT & the security by a Sgt who ignored pretty much the LT.
The episode certainly showed the difference with the operators to average soldiers.
The Terrorists started coming in large numbers (10-1 ratio if not greater) throughout the night.
