I'm looking at maybe buying a Jedi costume for Halloween but don't want to spend a lot of money doing so since I'm not planning on joining the RL or any other such group but I don't want one of those cheapie store bought costumes either and right now I'm talking to a friend about making me one but if that falls through I'll just end up buying it. Question is now, which is better, Costumebay or Cosplaysky? Both look pretty decent, based on their pics, but Costumebase is like half the price of Cosplaysky and considering that I'd need to add a belt and since I also want a Force FX saber to go with it Costumebase looks very appealing but I don't want to spend the money only to get something that's only a little better than one of the licensed ones you buy at the store.

Well, I do know costumebase a makes a great (and cheap) brown jedi robe... the one I got is well made, heavy fabric and about 1/4 what I expected to pay for it....

costumebase jedi is actually almost RL clearable with minor tweaks
good, cheap and decent
but as with all costumes, theres budget to premium; and CB is definately at the budget end; so dont expect premium quality.
their tabards are filled with some bad foamy material which will do in a pinch or else they are easy to fix.

all that and the delivary is fast. Simon (Poon) aka spoon is a good guy, good comms.

I got the Obi Wan jedi, the TIE jumpsuit and considering the ATAT jumpsuit from them if the size ever gets sorted out

Sounds like Costumebase is the way to go for me, I don't really need premium I just don't want bargain basement budget like the licensed Halloween costumes.

yeah the talk abt the website is that its budget range stuff as well - thats from the RPF and superherohype.

so if you already decided on the budget range, and cost is the deciding factor; then CB is probably the way forward. but like I mentioned, dont expect quality goods

heres my jedi

tabards are not quite in the right place, but hey ho

As I said before, I don't expect perfect just better than one of those licensed Halloween costumes is what I want. Yours looks pretty decent so I think I'd be pretty happy going the CB route.
