Ok so I recently came into some cash from a trust that was started for me 25 years ago when I was a baby. Anyway I was looking to build a Colonial Marine Outfit Armor Helmet Boots PR the whole 9 yards.

I am some what of a noob when it comes to this I know that you can convert PR from Tomphsons airsoft guns but I have no Idea what sites to look at for the airsoft guns or PR conversion kits, I would like the PR to be fully active with a pump light up counter and if possible a strap. I also have no Idea of where to the get the armor and such. I don't mind converting the PR from a tommy airsoft. I was however looking for a USCM armor out of the box that just needs to be repainted but no idea where to look

I am lookin to spend no more then bout $1k US if thats possible

as far as gun laws go I am in cali but can easily purchase the 870 pump if needed I already have a Glock 29 .45 so I am pretty sure I can purchase any other gun required to convert the PR from a tommy

any help would be greatly appericated

thanks in advance

Hello Andrew,
welcome! You might want to check the Alienslegacy forum. That's where all the Colonial Marines hang out. Some here are also registered and active there. A great resource for getting info, knowledge and also cool things to buy.

Spatcave sells finished armor, but you might want to ask around about alternatives. spatcave aliens armor

There's a guy MAA over at the Alienslegacy forum who sells very good camo BDU replicas, with accurate patches, not cheap, but as good as it gets. As far as boots, you'll need some jungle boots. Grunts wore the green ones: OD Altamas. Officers wore these: black Altamas (I'd prefer them, they have speed laces.)

Can't help you much with the PR. I'd go for airsoft though. Good luck!

BDU = Battle Dress Uniform, a camouflage utility or fatigue uniform worn by the US military during the 80s & 90s. The term BDU technically refers to this specific pattern of fatigue uniform but has since become sort of a generic word for all fatigue/utility uniforms whether in a solid color or camouflage (sort of like Band Aid, Kleenex, and Xerox) whether they adhere to the BDU pattern or not.

For Thompsons you can simply do a google search for airsoft and you'll come up with a whole laundry list of airsoft sites. You have 3 basic choices for buying an airsoft gun, since most are made in Japan or Taiwan you'll get the best price by buying from an Asian dealer like Redwolf or Wargamer's Club, the downside is that shipping can be pricey, it takes longer to get to you, it might not get through customs (you can usually get a refund or another sent to you if that happens), and you can't test to see if the gun actually works or not before hand.

If you don't like any one of those drawbacks for buying from Asia then you can buy domestically from places like Evike, Airsoft Atlanta, or Airsoft GI to name a few; the downside to buying domestically is that they will cost more and will come with the muzzles already painted blaze orange which the Asian sellers don't always do or do so well.

Your last bet is eBay which has the potential for the best prices but you're selection will vary greatly and it will take a lot of perseverance and browsing to get something for much cheaper than what you can buy from a regular store.

Currently there's and AEG (fully automatic & battery powered) Thompson available for under $200 but I don't know for certain that it's the correct Thompson since there was a military version and a civilian version made and I think the pulse rifles were based on the military version. Anyway, here it is at Evike.com http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=27864

Evike also sells the conversion kit for the pulse rifle for $420, but I don't know if that's the cheapest price out there although Evike's prices are usually pretty good and I don't know if it's the most accurate. You'll probably want to shop around for the best price and I'd also check in on over at the Aliens Legacy site to see if the eVike kit (made by G&P) is the most accurate out there. However, if you don't necessarily need it to fire Dan (lostncybr) is offering a resin version that looks pretty good and I believe you can get it with a working counter, send him a PM for more info or search in the For Sale section here for the interest thread.

Speaking from experience. The airsoft PR will cost about $500-$600 even in kit form. (Just the G&P kit alone is $350 and a pain too assemble.). You might want to go with a resin PR to save cost. Also speaking from a convention standpoint. The resin ones are more con friendly.

Dan is selling resin kits for $200. I've seen them and they are very nice.

As far as buyin the airsoft goes I will prob buy a domestic one for the simple fact that it is probably much easier to return and better chance it will be functioning and such. However when you said the muzzle would be painted blaze orange would this affect the conversion of the smg to PR?

As far as the cost goes I would prefer to spend the xtra money on a functioning model(PR) ,since this will probably be my one and only time to spend money on something like this. As far as the BDU's go I will check around on thanks you all for the great info

It shouldn't, I don't think that the pulse rifle uses the stock Thompson muzzle brake which is what would be painted orange and even if it does there are ways of removing the orange paint from nail polish remover, to paint thinner, or even just repainting it black.

ya thats what i figured but just thought i would ask to be sure even if it was you are probably right I could always remove the paint or simply paint over it(the things you forget at 2am when you are 1/2 awake)
