It looks like Primorodo will be taking care of the round version of the logo but I thought I'd start a thread for this anyhow and post up the rough version I had started on earlier today just to get things going.

I like it. The only thing that bugs me is the size of the "H". In straight line text it looked cool to have the primary letters capitalized, but in that curve it just kind of throws me off.

My only issue at this point is what I said in the other thread, that its not the logo at this point, just an SGC varient.

Also I agree with kronk, teh captials really throw off here...and the /\ is kinda redundant...

I have one question is it going to be black and or white or is it going to be coloered like the SGC logo

It was just something that I whipped up real fast and was meant as a starting point more than anything else. It's your baby anyway, Prim, so go to town on it; I made this before I knew that that you were doing the round logo. I'll put in my input once you have something up but this is all yours and not doing this one will allow me to work on other projects.

Oh, about the Earth glyph in the middle, it's there because I was basing this off of the SGC logo. My idea, and Dan's, was to base this off of the SGC logo much like the first one was based off of the Atlantis logo. But as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, go with whatever you want with the design, it's all yours. I'm curious to see what you have in mind for this project.

I'm digging this basic design. Just the changes everyone else mentioned, but all in all I like it. Has that canon-at-a-glance feel to it.

I actually quite like this logo - as DuneMuadDib said, it's easily recognisable at a glance

The only suggestion I have would be in addressing the apparent awkwarkdness of the text placing - perhaps it might look better if it lay across the top of the chevron, instead of squeezed into the top of the round part of the logo?

That way, it would be on more of a flat plane, and perhaps make the capitals look less conflicting?

Hey Phil, It was my understanding that we were going to wait till the actual Stargate Hero Logo done before I started any serious work on this logo?

If Dan wants me to go in this approach as well I can, I already have been working in Illustrator to get all teh main logos done fro Emuz, including three or 4 variations of the SGC Logo.

My only issue with using this patch as I said before is the fact that it won't really be the logo that you are creating on the other thread. However if it doesn;t matter as much, yeah sure I'll continue with a similar idea.

I don't think that it matters much that it's not the same as the Atlantis style logo. I think that the idea was to sort of have an SGC style logo since the first one is very Atlantis centric. I'd say, go with what you have in mind for this and don't give the other logo much thought unless your idea is to try incorporate the other logo into this round one.

As for the other logo, I think that the design phase is effectively done. All that remains right now is for me to tweak the design so that it matches the dimensions of the actual Atlantis patch.

It was my understanding that the round patch was only as an option for SG-1 based costumers could also wear the Stargatehero.net logo as well as the Atlantis costumers, thus keeping the patch rounf for this but keeping the logo effectivly the same in colour and design, and not deviating too much.

I have no problem going from the SGC patch as I have said, I did initally think of it, but was only concerned to go away from the SGH.N logo...

That was the orginal idea, to see what could be made in SG-1 style using the same basic elements from the Atlantis style logo, but at this point, the Atlantis style SGH logo will be the "official" SGH logo, there will be a slight different variant for the Atlantis style patch and this would free up the SG-1 style to be however want it.

We also need a SciFiHero.NET logo too.

I like both, they can be worn in place of the SGC/SG1 patch or the SGA patch on a constume and still look very real and support the cause... Think we should get them made!

I'm not too sure about the split tone in the circle in the Earth symbol and it would be interesting to see the blue as red but otherwise it looks very nice.

Well what will the offical logo be? Red or Blue? Because this is merely the round version of it, so it should match

I really like the star chart in the background of the logo. It adds something more to the overall look of the logo.

As for the red or the blue. Why not take a vote and leave it up to membership to decide? Might be fun

As for the blue/red, I want to keep it inline with the official logo, whatever Phil and Dan decide the colour should be, thats what this one should reflect as well. It IS the Stargatehero.net Logo afterall, over an earth patch etc.

I was also giving some thought into what patch this would replace, and I think it would be a perfect replacement for the Earth patch as you will be able to support your team AND SH.Net. Akin to the Atlantis patch, which you support your country and SH.Net.

Thoughts?
